Keystone Mills is a family owned regional feed manufacturer in Romulus, NY. We are committed to meeting the nutritional needs of dairy, swine, poultry, beef, horse, sheep, and goat producers. Our facilities, ingredients, and nutritional expertise enable us to provide a wide variety of standard and custom bulk and bag feeds. We offer conventional and organic feeds that are specially formulated to meet the individual needs of our customer’s farms. Keystone Mills operates our fleet under Double M Transport and provide delivery services to our customers for their orders.
Position Overview:
If you are skilled with your hands and passionate about mechanics, you will be an excellent fit as a truck mechanic in our shop. We are looking for the right candidate who is willing to be part of an energetic team. As a member of our team, you will get to interact with drivers to figure out what they need, put your mechanical skills to use and repair many different trucks and trailers. This is an exceptional position for someone with a positive attitude, excellent technical skills and the desire to succeed.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on trucks, such as checking batteries and changing oil, brakes and tires to ensure proper vehicle running and in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Inspect various parts of trucks, including brake systems, wheel bearings and steering mechanisms to ensure they are in the proper condition to operate effectively
- Ability to use different tools and equipment, such as pressure gauges, pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, screwdrivers, hoists and jacks, to repair trucks while constantly utilizing safety precautions
- Diagnose malfunctions in defective equipment
- Test drive vehicles to ensure they are running properly and to find issues to determine what the solution will be
- Replace parts, valves, bearings and gears as needed and repair vehicle cooling and heating systems
- Oversee other mechanics, order parts, manage software for maintenance tracking on fleet
Job Skills & Qualifications Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment and parts regularly
- Excellent team player
- Must be comfortable with working in awkward positions or cramped spaces
Preferred:
- Experience working with diagnostic computers
- Previous experience as a diesel mechanic
