Dental Hygienist

Job Summary

The Keystone Dental Care Team is in search of a full-time motivated Dental Hygienist to join our non-profit dental clinic in Johnson City. Our mission is to provide affordable basic dental care to underserved adults 19 years and older on an income based sliding scale. By joining the Keystone Dental Care team, you will play an important role in our region providing essential healthcare services to communities with limited resources.

Our Dental Hygienists work closely with Dentists to meet the oral health needs of patients.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patients feel comfortable and informed about the services being performed
• Conduct screenings including checking the patient's health conditions and medications on their medical history, oral health history, oral cancer screening, dental and periodontal charting and vitals
• Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
• Provide these services as needed: adult prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, full mouth debridement, scaling in presence of severe gingivitis, scaling and root planing
• Take X-rays, intraoral photos and digital scans as needed
• Train on teledentistry and perform teledentistry assessments as needed
• Applying preventative materials to the teeth (sealants and fluorides)
• Educating patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health including tooth brushing, flossing, nutritional hygiene, and additional oral hygiene aids as needed
• Counseling patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health
• Take initiative to help teammates when not busy with sterilization and other office activities
• Performing other activities as requested by Practice Administrator
• Schedule patient's next hygiene recall appointment at the time of service
• Ensure accurate and detailed notes and chart updates are applied for each patient encounter in our patient management system. Our office uses Patterson Eaglesoft.

• Patients leave feeling on the right track with their oral health. They understand the importance of regular cleanings, feel better equipped to manage their oral health at home, and are more aware of how oral health connects to their overall well-being.

Requirements

• Current TN State Licensure as a Dental Hygienist is required
• CPR Certification
• New RDH Graduates Welcome

Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
