Position Summary

Keystone Defense Industries LLC is accepting applications from qualified Armed Security Officers for an anticipated security assignment beginning September 1, 2026.

KDI is a licensed and insured Florida security agency serving the Tampa Bay region. We provide professional armed and unarmed security services focused on disciplined personnel, clear post instructions, lawful conduct, accurate documentation, and responsive management.

The Armed Security Officer will provide a professional and visible security presence while protecting people, property, assets, and business operations. The ideal candidate demonstrates sound judgment, restraint, situational awareness, dependable attendance, and professional communication skills.

This is not a law enforcement position. Officers must operate within Florida law, KDI policies, client-authorized duties, and assignment-specific post orders.

Important Assignment Notice

This position is being recruited for an anticipated client assignment scheduled to begin on or around September 1, 2026.

Employment, assignment location, schedule, available hours, and start date are dependent upon:

  • Successful completion of KDI screening and onboarding
  • Verification of required licenses and qualifications
  • Staffing needs

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Armed Security Officer may be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a professional, alert, and visible armed security presence
  • Protecting client personnel, visitors, property, facilities, equipment, inventory, and assets
  • Monitoring entrances, exits, parking areas, common areas, restricted locations, and assigned areas
  • Conducting authorized interior and exterior patrols
  • Inspecting doors, gates, access points, lighting, and perimeter areas
  • Controlling access for employees, visitors, vendors, contractors, and deliveries
  • Verifying identification, credentials, and visitor authorization when required
  • Observing and reporting suspicious, unsafe, unauthorized, or unusual activity
  • Responding professionally to alarms, disturbances, emergencies, and safety concerns
  • Utilizing verbal communication and de-escalation techniques when appropriate
  • Following KDI emergency response and incident escalation procedures
  • Contacting law enforcement, fire rescue, EMS, management, or client representatives when required
  • Supporting first responders and preserving incident scenes when appropriate
  • Enforcing client rules within lawful authority
  • Completing accurate daily activity reports, patrol logs, and incident reports
  • Reporting hazards, incidents, equipment issues, and policy violations
  • Maintaining professional radio, telephone, and written communication
  • Completing shift turnover information
  • Maintaining confidentiality regarding client operations and security procedures
  • Carrying and handling authorized firearms and equipment according to Florida law and KDI policies
  • Exercising proper restraint and never exceeding legal authority or post orders

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Valid Florida Class "D" Security Officer License
  • Valid Florida Class "G" Statewide Firearm License
  • Current annual Class G firearms qualification documentation
  • Active licenses in good standing
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to arrive on time, properly uniformed, and prepared for duty
  • Ability to understand and follow written post orders and emergency procedures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to complete accurate security reports
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies or confrontational situations
  • Ability to safely carry and responsibly handle an authorized firearm
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts when required
  • Ability to successfully complete:
    • License verification

    • Client onboarding requirements

  • Ability to work independently

Note: Military or law enforcement experience does not replace the requirement for current Florida Class D and Class G licenses.
