Position Overview
The Real Estate & Land Development Paralegal plays an integral role in supporting the Land Development and Legal teams by assisting with the complex process of obtaining permits, approvals, and entitlements for land development projects. This role involves creating and managing Homeowners Associations (HOAs), facilitating the dedication of land development projects to HOAs and municipalities, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The paralegal also helps manage legal documentation and coordinates communication between internal teams and external stakeholders.

The Real Estate & Land Development Paralegal plays an integral role in supporting the Land Development and Legal teams by assisting with the complex process of obtaining permits, approvals, and entitlements for land development projects. This role involves creating and managing Homeowners Associations (HOAs), facilitating the dedication of land development projects to HOAs and municipalities, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The paralegal also helps manage legal documentation and coordinates communication between internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and revise legal documents related to real estate transactions, with a focus on easements, deeds of dedication, purchase agreements, leases, mortgages, and HOA-related documentation.
- Assist in conducting due diligence, including title searches, property inspections, zoning research, and environmental assessments.
- Research and stay updated on local, state, and federal regulations, zoning ordinances, and land use laws relevant to land development projects.
- Communicate with third-party professionals, engineers, outside counsel, real estate agents, and HOA boards to gather information and resolve inquiries.
- Manage and organize land development files, ensuring accurate and accessible documentation.
- Support compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards governing real estate and land development matters.
- Provide general administrative support to the legal team, including scheduling, calendar management, and preparing correspondence.
- Associate's degree or paralegal certificate from an accredited institution, or 2-3 years of experience in a real estate paralegal or similar role.
- Proficiency in legal research, document drafting, and contract review.
- Strong knowledge of real estate laws, zoning, land development regulations, and transactional processes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
- Familiarity with electronic document management systems. (Preferred)
- Prior experience working in a law firm or real estate agency. (Preferred)
