Description
We're hiring a Nightshift Mechanic's Assistant to help maintain and repair our fleet of water trucks. Working under the guidance of our Truck Mechanics, you'll perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and inspections on trucks, trailers, and vacuum pump systems. This is a night-shift, hands-on position that requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and independently in an outdoor, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, fittings, and valves
- Service and maintain vacuum pump systems following manufacturer specifications
- Complete maintenance work orders using computerized tracking systems
- Assist mechanics in scheduled repairs and fleet upkeep
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times
- Provide roadside service as needed for fleet emergencies
- Supply personal basic hand tools for job duties
- Operate pressure washer and assist with shop organization
- Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and operational guidelines
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Some mechanical or technical experience required
- Basic computer proficiency and email use
- Ability to operate skid steer, telehandler, and/or forklift
- Meets requirements to be a Keystone-approved driver
- Mechanically inclined with an interest in truck or equipment repair
- Willingness to work night shift and respond to changing priorities
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow direction and safely perform tasks with minimal supervision
