Description
As a Field Automation Technician, you’ll support our automated water transfer systems in the field. This technical, hands-on role involves installing and maintaining sensors, troubleshooting electronics, configuring devices, and ensuring safe and efficient operations at remote customer sites. You'll split time between field work and shop-based equipment repairs, reporting directly to the Manager of Automated Operations.
Responsibilities
- Set up and rig down automation equipment on site
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on sensors, valves, and controls
- Use hand tools, diagnostic gear, and software to configure and test systems
- Respond to field service calls and troubleshoot real-time issues
- Interact with clients and represent the company professionally onsite
- Complete daily reporting and safety documentation
- Travel regionally, often to remote locations, with occasional overnight stays
- Adhere to all SOPs, safety standards, and training requirements
Requirements
- 1 year of oil & gas or relevant industrial experience
- Experience with electrical wiring, electronics, or instrumentation
- Familiarity with multimeters, computers, and basic networking
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team in fast-paced environments
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly
- Positive, safety-first mindset with a desire to grow and learn
- Field-Based | Full-Time | 12-hour shifts possible | Travel and overnight stays as required
