Keystone Area Education Agency is anticipating multiple openings for Paraeducator – Interventionists within a Specialized Therapeutic Behavior Program beginning with the 2026–2027 school year. These positions are currently under development and are pending final program approval.
We are seeking individuals who are passionate about supporting students with significant social-emotional and behavioral needs. While experience is valued, we are especially interested in candidates who demonstrate patience, resilience, and a strong commitment to helping students succeed. Keystone AEA provides comprehensive training and ongoing support to help staff grow and be successful in this role.

This is a newly developed program for the 2026–2027 school year, located at the Keystone AEA facility in Elkader, Iowa.
Position Overview
Paraeducator – Interventionists provide essential educational and behavioral support to students under the direction of a certified teacher. This role focuses on one-to-one intensive behavior support, data collection, and assisting students in developing the skills needed to successfully engage in the learning environment.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive classroom while helping students build independence and successfully reintegrate into less restrictive environments.
