What are the responsibilities and job description for the CADD Technician position at Keystaff Professionals?
We’re looking for a CADD Technician to support water/wastewater infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys Revit and AutoCAD/Civil 3D drafting, fieldwork, and collaborating with engineers to improve local infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed drawings and design layouts using AutoCAD/Civil 3D
- Interpret redlines, topographic surveys, and sketches to develop plans
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to create engineering plans
- Calculate dimensions and quantities for roadways, utilities, and site work
- Provide field support including construction observation, surveying, and materials testing
- Serve as RPR on job sites to ensure project execution aligns with plans
- Create graphics and drawings for reports, proposals, and presentations
- Maintain field diaries, document progress, and provide updates to leadership
- Travel as needed for site visits during construction season (overnight stays possible)
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Technical Drafting preferred)
- 2–5 years of drafting or field experience (municipal infrastructure preferred)
- Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D (bonus for SketchUp, ArcMap GIS)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in both office and outdoor environments
