Elementary Summer Jumpstart - Elementary PE Teacher
Incoming grades K to 5. There will be two teachers so that the entire grade level can come at one time. Will help with arrival and dismissal.
Dates: July 6 - July 31, Monday-Friday, 9am - 3pm
Pay Rate: $36 per hour
Summer school is paid for a 7-hour day which includes 6 hours of school prep/plan.
There will be additional planning/professional learning time before the start of and during summer school not to exceed 18 hours.
Elementary certification is required.

- Direct instruction using district-adopted resources for universal and small group/targeted instruction
- Heavy emphasis on literacy in K-2 programming, with additional focus on math in grades 2-5
- Integration of social-emotional learning and community circles
- Pre-teaching of curriculum for upcoming grade levels, with decisions guided by spring student data and needs
- Class/group sizes will be limited to 10-12 students per teacher, with targeted invitations coming from our elementary schools
- ELA and math programming will include district-adopted resources for universal instruction (i.e. Heggerty, Sonday, Units of Study, Second Step, Investigations), with teacher flexibility to create fun, summer-camp like experiences for students that might otherwise not be available during the school year.
- All rising Kdg-5th grade students/teachers will be on one campus, Tillman Elementary School.
- Elementary summer school administrators will be Michael Dragoni and Meghan Taylor.
- All staff (KSD & SSD) are eligible for teaching during the summer, with preference given to certified staff who will be serving students in the fall.
- Our administrative team will oversee student identification, communication, hiring of staff, scheduling, and coordination of data, working closely with building leadership.
