Location: KEYENCE Engineering Services Facility – Itasca, IL
Total Compensation (Base Bonus): $68,006
Applicants must reside in Illinois. Relocation is not offered for this position.
As an Entry-Level Field Engineer, you’ll be part of our Engineering Services team, working hands-on with the world’s most innovative Factory Automation products. You’ll travel to manufacturing facilities, assemble and install equipment, optimize configurations, and provide technical support to our customers.
- Assemble, install, connect, code, and diagnose KEYENCE products on advanced production lines
- Travel regularly to customer sites to assist with equipment integration and verify proper operation
- Optimize product configuration, including mechanical and digital adjustments
- Provide guidance on product integration, operation, and troubleshooting
- Maintain records of customer interactions and compile post-visit summary reports
- Prepare KEYENCE equipment for customer use
- Travel 50–60% of the time, including overnight, weekends, and holidays as needed
🎓 Qualifications
- 2-year degree or trade school equivalent (manufacturing, engineering, electronics, or maintenance technology preferred)
- Ability to lift 30–70 lbs. of equipment, including overhead
- Ability to climb a step ladder and use hand tools/electronic devices
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word) and custom software for product interface
- Valid driver’s license
- Proficiency in English (secondary language a plus)
- High attention to detail and strong communication skills
- Analytical skills for troubleshooting and product adjustments
- Integrity and dependability in handling confidential information and meeting deadlines
