Job Summary
As a Teller, you will be a problem solver, trusted advisor, and partner to the people and businesses in our Key Bank communities. You will provide excellent client service by welcoming both new and existing clients to the Bank and assisting them with their account transactions and servicing needs. Through conversations with clients, you will listen to uncover financial needs and transition clients to a banker to have a deeper financial wellness conversation.

Responsibilities
  • Embody a strong client experience culture, being present with every client and teammate and realizing the impact we can have on their day, personally, professionally, and financially.
  • Assume responsibility for the efficient, effective, and accurate performance of teller functions.
  • Proactively work to identify and resolve client servicing issues, escalating as needed.
  • Listen for clues for financial wellness opportunities during client conversations, and then appropriately transition the client(s) to a Banker.
  • Assist clients in achieving their financial goals and objectives through the use of financial wellness tools.
  • Participate in morning huddles and end of day debriefs.
  • Follow compliance, audit, and security procedures, balance cash drawer within balancing guidelines.
  • Review and maintain knowledge of product guides, fees, and policies to stay current on offerings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities, and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
  • Comply with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key's clients and Key.

Education Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent business experience (required).

Experience Qualifications
  • Experience in a client service role (required).
  • Experienced in cash handling (required).
  • General understanding of PC with Windows-based applications and calculator (required).

Tactical Skills
  • Be knowledgeable about the client's accounts and business with the bank and use sound judgment with customers and transactions.
  • Exhibit strong sales and service skills, presenting products and services while proactively educating clients on utilizing available access channels (ex: ATM, Online, and Telephone Banking).
  • Show a strong work ethic and high level of integrity.
  • Excel in time management skills.

  • Show adaptability, understanding that change is inevitable, and seek value in new ways of doing things while coping with day-to-day frustrations, adversities, and uncertainties related to change.
  • Demonstrate collaboration, understanding of collaborative processes, and provide examples of how collaboration has or can help the organization reach its goals.

  • Understand business priorities of internal and external clients and describe relevant profitability drivers and considerations.
  • Demonstrate oral and written communication skills, speaking, writing, and presenting effectively to convey the intended message to an audience.
  • Describe key issues and benefits of risk management practices and make use of organizational resources for risk avoidance and management.
  • Describe storytelling techniques, concepts, and potential benefits.
  • Show ability to modify work as directed and apply continuous improvement to develop new skills during change initiatives.

Physical Demands
  • Consumer Retail - Prolonged Standing (5-8 hours per day), frequent use of hands to manipulate/grasp objects, ability to communicate face-to-face and on the phone with clients, occasional bending and lifting from floor height, frequent forward reach, frequent lifting of 1-10 lbs., occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.

Driving Requirements
  • Ability to occasionally operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license.
