The focus of our new team will be on middle and upper middle market public and private companies in the diversified industries group, including businesses within the KeyCorp verticals of industrial, consumer, energy, healthcare, technology, business services, and financial services.

Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for business development and relationship management
- Formulates and executes a business development strategy to build a pipeline of corporate and investment banking prospects and opportunities
- Utilizes internal and external networks to attract corporate banking prospects, including centers of influence, networking events, industry conferences, etc.
- Actively calls on new prospects to identify new business or referral opportunities
- Assists in closing deals across all product groups
- Achieves individual business development revenue goals
- Sources and evaluates all new corporate finance opportunities and partners with product specialists to cross sell the bank’s products
- Pre-screens qualified opportunities, structuring deals to balance risk/rewards
- Actively involved in pitching, structuring, negotiating and closing new corporate finance transactions
- Oversees and ensures sound underwriting practices for presentation to credit approver
- Acts as primary point of contact for overall corporate banking relationships
- Maintains required subject expertise including product knowledge, general organization practices, and policies and procedures applicable to product lines and services
- Increases awareness of KeyBank’s presence in the marketplace through active involvement in the community
- B.A./B.S. degree required / MBA preferred
- Series SIE, 79 and 63 (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
- Must possess 10 years of experience in the Corporate or Investment Banking market
- Must possess an advanced knowledge of investment banking products and services and be able to successfully capitalize on cross-sell opportunities
- Must possess strong sales, marketing, business development and negotiation skills
- Must possess advanced knowledge of credit and credit quality
- Must be a self-starter, entrepreneurial, results oriented routinely exceed client expectations
- Candidate must be able to demonstrate proven track record of production in corporate finance market
- Formal credit training or experience is preferred
