ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Greet clients as they arrive at the office and inquire into their purpose of visiting the firm.
- Provide initial information regarding the firm’s services, and availability of lawyers.
- Obtain preliminary information from new clients, to determine their case histories, and backgrounds.
- Record all information provided by clients, and forward it to lawyers or legal assistants.
- Respond to telephone calls, diverting and transferring calls, and taking and relaying messages.
- Ensure that conference and shared spaces are tidy and ready for client meetings.
- Assist attorneys, paralegals, and other staff with various clerical duties as needed.
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, according to established protocols and procedures, including taking certified mail to the post office.
- Experience: Two years of full-time experience working in an office setting, preferably in the legal environment
- Knowledge of general office practices
- Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
- Demonstrated skill in effective oral and written communication
- Skill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision making
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
