As an Entry-level Geologist with KEY, your responsibilities may include:
- Support a wide range of projects including environmental, hydrogeologic, geotechnical, site development, and geophysical investigations;
- Prepare clear and concise technical reports that evaluate/summarize data and investigation results;
- Hands-on implementation of work plans in an outdoor field setting;
- Provide oversight of contractors for environmental related activities, such as completing test borings and test pits, monitoring well installation, groundwater remediation injections, construction activities, and quality assurance;
- Procurement and coordination of subcontractor services; and,
- Perform soil, surface water, groundwater, soil vapor, and air sampling, testing, and evaluations.
Additional responsibilities for Mid-level candidates include:
- All of the responsibilities for an Entry-level Geologist plus;
- Project/task management related to the investigation and remediation of contaminated properties
- Working knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations
- Prepare proposals, interface with clients, and support business development activities
The ideal entry-level candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Minimum B.S. degree in Geology or a related with relevant internship or work experience;
- Coursework or working knowledge in hydrogeology, chemistry, statistics, data evaluation, and technical writing;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to work well independently, in a project team and multi-task environment;
- Ability to travel to job sites, including some overnight travel;
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; and,
- OSHA 40-hour training preferred.·
Additional qualifications for Mid-level candidates include:
- All of the qualifications for an Entry-level Geologist plus;
- M.S. degree in Geology or related field preferred
- 5 plus years of experience in a related field preferred
- Demonstrated experience in the investigation/remediation of contaminated properties
- Strong understanding of relevant local, state, and federal regulations
- Excellent computer skills with Excel, Word, and technical analysis software, and other computer applications
