POSITION SUMMARY:
The Housekeeping Floor Supervisor, under the direction of the Hotel Manager - St. Ignace, is responsible for working with housekeeping team members to ensure the cleanliness of hotel rooms and or gaming floor based on location. The position is responsible for providing attentive, cheerful, courteous, professional customer service to all customers, internal and external, striving to always exceed their expectations
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Oversee the daily activities of room inspectors and guest room attendants.
- Conduct daily inspections of all hotel pubic areas, storage and corrects all deficiencies.
- Assign daily workloads, monitors all staff assignment sheets for proper documentation of supply usage, room time and maintenance requests.
- Assist with removing soiled linens from floors and processes laundry as assigned.
- Monitor Property Management System (PMS) to ensure that rooms are being updated as they become available.
- Assist in the restocking of storage areas and orders department supplies.
- Issue keys to team members.
- Ensure all chemicals are marked and MSDS sheets (are updated) and in place.
- Assist with the training of new team members, scheduling, approving leave requests, conducting staff evaluations, performance evaluations, issuing disciplinary action when needed.
- Assist with the scheduling and monitoring of heavy cleaning projects.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Follow-up with Maintenance Department on hotel room repairs such as wall paper, electrical outlets, broken furniture and broken sink repairs.
- Assist in making contact with guest for lost and found.
- Work as a room inspector as need or as requested.
- All other job-related duties as assigned.

Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor/manager, managers in other departments and customers and outside vendor/service providers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position medium with lifting of 50 pounds maximum and frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds. Physical factors include constant standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, manual handling, use of hearing, smell, near/midrange/far vision, depth perception, color/field of vision; frequent pushing/pulling, climbing, typing; occasional sitting and pushing. Working conditions include constant exposure to air quality; frequent exposure to weather, extreme heat, noise, vibration and occasional exposure to wet/humidity. Potential hazards include constant exposure to high exposed places, chemicals, insecticides/pesticides, client contact, infectious exposure, needles/syringes, computer use; frequent exposure to equipment and occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts. Personal protection equipment provided to perform the functions of the position includes vinyl gloves and eye protection.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of related experience working in housekeeping or custodial field required.
Certification/License: Must undergo a Criminal background investigation done under the rules of the National Indian Gaming Commission.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet and data base software preferred. Knowledge of cleaning methods and practices required. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate clearly in person, in writing, and by telephone and email. Must have good project management skills; provide strong leadership, prioritize project tasks, meet project deadlines and effectively communicate with personnel, coworkers, subordinates and the general public. Must have good decision-making skills. Must have excellent public relation/customer service skills and be able to exhibit a friendly and positive attitude. Must be able to work under pressure at a rapid pace. Must be able to work extended hours when needed. Must be flexible and available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Native American preferred.
