Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following recipe guidelines and safety standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently to support cooking and meal assembly
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly
- Support the culinary team in meal preparation and plating to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Follow food safety protocols related to handling, storage, and hygiene to uphold health standards
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow
- Help with basic menu planning tasks by organizing ingredients and assisting in ingredient inventory checks
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is most important
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments is advantageous
- Basic culinary skills including knife handling, slicing techniques, and recipe adherence are beneficial
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and team members
- Prior kitchen experience involving food handling, cleaning routines, or operating kitchen equipment will support your success in this position
Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
