Duties: The Office Engineer shall establish and maintain filing system for project records, such as engineering drawings and specifications, schedules, requests for information, change orders, pay estimates, technical manuals etc. Review contracts to determine documentation required and their due dates for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and construction processes. Monitor status of project to ensure documentation is submitted according to the schedule. Review and verify project documents and reports for completeness, format, and compliance with contract requirements. Submit project documentation to management for approval and transmit documents back to customer. Prepare change orders, claims, material testing reports, and monthly pay estimates. Work with engineers, contractors, managers and others regarding project and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Experience in Microsoft Office Suite Adobe Acrobat, Contract Manager, Compass and AASHTOWare Project is required. A minimum of four years of experience as an Office Engineer maintaining project records. Other qualifications include the ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks. The successful candidate must work well with others and supervise assistants when required.
NICET Level II Certification in Transportation/Highway Construction is required, except for those persons possessing a current State of Connecticut Professional Engineer's License or a Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in a relevant field.
