Join our vibrant corner store as a 21 Smokeshop Associate, where you’ll be at the forefront of creating an engaging and welcoming shopping experience for our customers. This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine retail sales, customer service, and product knowledge in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for assisting customers, managing sales transactions, merchandising products, and ensuring the store remains organized and inviting. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help drive sales and foster customer loyalty in a lively retail setting.

Starting rate is $15/hr plus tips

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service through active communication and attentive listening
• Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately for sales transactions, cash handling, and receipts management
• Assist customers with product demos and upselling to enhance their shopping experience and increase store sales
• Maintain attractive merchandise displays, restock shelves, and ensure products are well-organized and appealing
• Conduct product knowledge demonstrations to educate customers about new or featured items
• Uphold phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
• Manage inventory by stocking shelves, conducting stock checks, and recording stock levels accurately
• Enforce store policies regarding age restrictions and safety regulations for 21 products
• Some heavy lifting may be required.
• Must be available to work weekends and nights.

Experience

• Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially within grocery stores or specialty shops like smoke or vape stores
• Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership skills in managing team members or shifts
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve a diverse customer base effectively
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently and professionally
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic math for transactions and inventory management
• Experience with merchandising, product demos, upselling techniques, and retail math principles
• Knowledge of phone etiquette standards and excellent customer service skills to create positive interactions
