Summary:
The Intramural Student Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Keuka College Intramural Sports Program. This position is ideal for students who are enthusiastic about sports, enjoy working in a team environment, and are looking to gain hands-on experience in recreation management, event planning, and student leadership.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist in the supervision, setup, operation, and breakdown of intramural events.
- Enforce rules and regulations, ensuring safety and fair play.
- Conduct risk assessments to help maintain a safe recreational environment.
- Support participant registration and help with the recruitment of intramural teams.
- May contribute to:
- Officiating games and managing score/timekeeping
- Staff supervision, training, and scheduling
- Inventory management and equipment tracking
- Marketing and promotion via social media, flyers, photography, and video
- Program planning and logistics
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude, representing Keuka College positively.
- Attend training and meetings as required.
- Protect student privacy in accordance with FERPA regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical & Scheduling Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
- May be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a traditional undergraduate student at Keuka College.
- Reliable, on-time, and capable of working independently and within a team.
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Familiarity with various sports; intramural experience is a plus.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Comfortable working with diverse groups and under pressure.
