Duties

• Respond promptly to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and rescue calls with professionalism and urgency.
• Operate firefighting equipment, including hoses, ladders, and extinguishers, to suppress fires effectively.
• Provide first aid, basic life support (BLS), advanced life support (ALS), and CPR to stabilize patients.
• Assess scene safety, perform mechanical inspections of equipment, and ensure all tools are operational.
• Transport patients safely using emergency vehicles while monitoring vital signs and providing necessary care en route.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on firefighting gear, medical supplies, and vehicles to ensure readiness at all times.
• Collaborate with team members and coordinate with other emergency services to manage complex incidents efficiently.

Requirements

• Valid State of Wisconsin and NREMT EMT-B certification with experience in emergency medical services (Required).
• Certification in first aid, CPR, and basic life support (Required).
• Valid IFSAC/ProBoard Firefighter 1 (Required)
• Preferred IFSAC/ProBoard Certifications: Firefighter 2, D/O Pumper, D/O Aerial, Fire Inspection, Fire Officer 1.
• Preferred State of Wisconsin and NREMT AEMT certification.
• Mechanical knowledge of firefighting equipment and emergency tools is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks in high-pressure situations.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to assess vital signs accurately and communicate effectively under stress.

Kettle Moraine Fire District is a local combination fire department providing fire and EMS coverage to the Village of Eagle, Town of Eagle, and Village of North Prairie. KMFD covers a population around 8,000 people in just under 40 square miles out of two fire stations. Patient care is provided at the AEMT level. From time of application to working shifts will be as quick as less than a month. Paid orientation/training is provided.

Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12.0 – 48.0 per week
