What are the responsibilities and job description for the Test Driver - Local position at Kett Engineering?
Kett Engineering is currently seeking a hardworking, detail oriented, and team contributing test drivers for an ongoing local project. All applicants must meet the minimum criteria below.
The test driver will operate technically advanced pre-production vehicles as part of a team on public roads while performing a full vehicle evaluation for each drive cycle. The test driver will be responsible for identifying any issues in relation to the powertrain, quality of build, functionality and design of vehicle systems, and any other vehicle related items. Radio testing will also be performed as part of this role.
Experience is not required; On-hand training will be provided.
Shift Hours:
1st Shift: 5:00am – 1:30pm (availability for Monday-Sunday)
2nd Shift: 4:00pm – 12:30am (availability for Monday-Friday)
Drivers are scheduled 2-5 days a week, shifts are 8 hours.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Complete a full vehicle evaluation and complete a clear and concise report and any other records for each vehicle during assigned shift.
- Drive on designated routes for 8-10 hour shifts while performing test procedures.
- Participate in all vehicle testing including but not limited to driving and designated special tests.
- Complete specific tasks for testing radio functions.
- Attention to detail and able to document findings.
- Operate vehicles in an extremely safe manner, obeying all laws of the road.
- Maintain safety and security procedures.
- Must be comfortable driving in inclement weather.
REQUIREMENTS:
- MUST Possess a valid driver’s license for a MINIMUM of 5 years.
- Have no points, no major traffic citations, and/or accidents for the past three years. No DUI or DWAI. Candidates will be immediately disqualified if they do not have a clean driving history for the past 3 years.
- Able to pass a background check, pre-employment drug screening, written driving test, a road driving test, follow GPS, and able to lift at least 25 pounds.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Ability to drive for prolonged periods of time comfortably and without issues.
- Accurately communicate detailed findings verbally and legibly write detailed findings on reporting forms.
- Follow directions and execute tasks.
- Be reliable and maintain good attendance.
- Complete required trainings.
- Have a positive attitude and ability to contribute in a team environment.
