Job Overview
Ketron CPA, PLLC is an accounting firm serving individuals and small businesses throughout northeast Tennessee, western North Carolina, and southwest Virginia. The firm provides comprehensive bookkeeping, payroll, tax compliance, and strategic tax planning services.
We are seeking a seasoned accountant with experience in preparing various types tax returns. Candidates must be comfortable with problem solving and have excellent communication skills. This position will assist with a mix of tax preparation, account support, and client service. Both CPAs and non-CPAs are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
· Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and estate tax returns
· Conduct and assist with tax research and provide timely solutions
· Support tax planning and prepare projections
· Support partner and other staff with tax season and year-round accounting projects
· Stay current on federal and state tax law changes
· Willingness to remain current through continuing professional education and ongoing professional development
· Work directly with clients to gather information and resolve questions
· Manage deadlines and deliver high-quality work
· Work sufficient hours needed to complete projects assigned
· Use accounting and tax software to prepare, organize, and document client work
· Maintain firm confidentiality
Experience
· Must have 2 years of recent experience in public accounting
· Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
· Clear and professional communication skills with both clients and coworkers
· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
· Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
· Intermediate to advance proficiency with Microsoft Office and firm supported software applications
Preferred (Nice to Have)
· CPA license
· 5 years of recent public accounting, tax preparation, audit, or nonprofit accounting
· Positive attitude, dependability, and willingness to learn
· Comfortable learning new software and using technology in a professional environment
· Experience with nonprofit audits
