About the position: The Business Coordinator’s principle function is to administer the KTB business office. Additional duties include assisting with fund development, maintaining the organization’s facility, representing the organization to the local community and seeking opportunities for collaboration with other local non-profits. The Business Coordinator reports to a member-elected Board of Directors, prepares information necessary for their informed policy decisions, and implements the organization’s policies and strategic plan.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: The Business Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance of records, grant tracking and reporting (where applicable), expense management and reporting within the organization's budget, managing payables and receivables, and cash handling.
- Personnel Administration:The Business Coordinator is responsible for assisting the School Director in the implementation of established personnel and studio policies, including employment duties and clerical training.
- Fundraising: The Business Coordinator coordinates the fund development of the organization through grant reporting (where applicable), maintaining relationships with granting agencies and organizations, donor development, sponsor outreach, scholarship development, and administering the organization's fundraisers as assigned.
- Operations: The Business Coordinator oversees the general operation of the facility (including studio supply needs), coordinates with janitorial staff, maintains an organized and welcoming environment, and performs all necessary tasks.
- Community Outreach: The Business Coordinator shall maintain contact and build relationships with community organizations and key individuals to increase visibility of the organization and accessibility to all demographics.
- KTB Board of Directors: The Business Coordinator shall prepare the information necessary for informed policy decisions by the board, advise the board on proposed policy decisions, and implement the board’s approved policies and strategic plan. Additionally, a monthly report shall be provided to the board of directors in advance of their monthly meeting. The Business Coordinator may be asked to attend these meetings.
- Agency and Other Networking: The Business Coordinator serves as the primary communication link to KTB families and the community, represents KTBs interests, and seeks opportunities for collaboration with other dance organizations and nonprofits, both locally and nationally.
Minimum Qualifications: At least one (1) year of higher-level education is required; an Associate's Degree is preferred. Experience in lieu of education may be considered. Technical competency in current software applications. Must be willing and able to lift 50lbs. The ability to pass a background check will be required. Must be located in, or able to relocate to Ketchikan, Alaska.

Benefits: Time off during the school year in accordance with the Ketchikan Gateway Borough School District Academic calendar (with some exceptions); minimal summer duties (June-July);50% off dependent tuition; and a downtown Ketchikan parking pass. Paid time off may be offered.
Salary & Details:
- Location: The Business Coordinator works from the KTB office in downtown Ketchikan. Flexible scheduling is required around performances. Local travel required.
- Classification: Full-time, non-exempt
- Salary: 32 hours/week, August-May:$28-$30/hr, 4 hours/week June-July: $38-$40/hr
- Schedule: The Business Coordinator will work scheduled office hours. Hours will be adjusted around events and performances, and additional hours may be required on normally scheduled days off.
