What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Supervisor position at Kestrel Vision?
We’re looking for a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to lead daily warehouse operations that support our manufacturing activities. In this role, you’ll oversee receiving, material handling, inventory accuracy, and finished-goods storage—while also supervising our Shipping Coordinators. You’ll help ensure materials get to production on time, customer shipments go out accurately, and all warehouse processes meet our safety and quality standards. This is a key position that keeps our operations running smoothly and reliably.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily warehouse activities including receiving, put-away, picking, staging, material distribution, and finished-goods storage
- Ensure accurate inventory levels through cycle counts, audits, root-cause analysis, and timely reconciliation
- Maintain organized, efficient warehouse layout and enforce standards such as 5S, FIFO, labeling, and location accuracy
- Supervise all shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate documentation, compliant packaging, and on-time carrier pickups/deliveries
- Support logistics coordination, including communication with carriers and resolution of shipment or delivery issues
- Train, coach, and schedule warehouse staff; provide feedback and support employee development
- Monitor material flow to guarantee timely delivery of raw materials and components to production
- Enforce safety protocols, equipment checks, and compliance with OSHA and company policies
- Coordinate preventive maintenance for forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment
- Track key performance indicators (inventory accuracy, order accuracy, shipment performance, productivity)
- Identify and support process improvements to increase efficiency, organization, and material flow
- Partner with production, purchasing, planning, and customer service to resolve material, inventory, or shipment issues
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 5 years of warehouse or logistics experience in a manufacturing environment
- 1 years' experience leading or supervising warehouse staff
- Proficiency with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems
- Knowledge of shipping/receiving processes and related documentation
- Forklift experience (certification or ability to obtain)
- Strong understanding of safety practices, inventory control, and material handling
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
- Experience with continuous improvement tools (5S, Lean, root-cause analysis)
- Strong Excel or reporting skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
- Experience supporting production environments with material flow, kitting, or line-side replenishment
- Familiarity with domestic/international shipping requirements and export classifications
