What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher Assistant - Infant room (1 yr exp req) position at Kessler Park Day School?
- Assist the Lead Teacher in every aspect of the classroom. The Teacher Assistant will help prepare lesson plans, assist with daily activities, change diapers, maintain cleanliness in the classroom, and assist with classroom management;
- Ensure the health and safety of each child enrolled in the class whether in the classroom, on the playground, or in common areas;
- Provide a safe, healthy, inviting, and creative classroom environment for the children;
- Treat the children with dignity and respect;
- With support from the Lead Teacher be able to deviate from the lesson plan in a positive manner to meet the needs of the children. Be flexible in the planning and implementing of classroom activities;
- Provide opportunities for the children to explore and experiment through learning by doing;
- Assist the Lead Teacher in coordinating daily plans to involve volunteers, parents, students, and other adults in the classroom;
- Be a good role model. Provide the children with a warm and accepting environment;
- Maintains confidentially related to the children, parents and staff;
- Other duties as assigned by the Director.
