POSITION TITLE: Job Coach

PROGRAM: GADOL

SUPERVISOR: Vocational Coordinator

RANGE: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt / Hourly

 **NOW OFFERING A $1,000 SIGN ON BONUS: $500 after successful completion of first 90 days, another $500 after six months!!

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Job Coach is responsible for providing skills training and on the job support to assist team members succeed in the workplace.

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Support GADOL team member/employee to build relationships with co-workers and natural supports at the workplace.
  • Conduct a job analysis to understand job tasks and identify the necessary supports needed for the employee to be successful.
  • Provide skills training and on the job supports to assist the employee with successfully completing his/her job tasks, while ultimately promoting independence.
  • Regularly monitor employees performance to determine the level of support needed and guide when fading from the job site is appropriate.
  • Regularly monitor job satisfaction from both the employee and employers perspective.
  • Document supports provided and employees job performance per program requirements.
  • Transport employee to and from work as determined necessary.
  • Apply interventions and use techniques learned during Keshet training in emergency and/or crisis situations.
  • Be respectful and follow Jewish culture and guidelines set forth in the personnel manual.
  • Complete DSP required training- CPR, First Aid, Safety Care, Rule 50, Fire Safety, Bloodborne Pathogens and continuing professional development assigned by Program Manager.
  • Adhere to Keshet policies and procedures outlined in the policy manual, Employee Handbook, and other employee policies.
  • Other job duties as assigned

  • Report any incidents of suspected rights violations, mistreatment, abuse, neglect or exploitation immediately according to KESHETs policies and procedures.
  • Respect the values, opinions, preferences and choices of individuals.
  • Advocate for team members rights and services.

 

 

Safety:

  • Follow safety guidelines including, but not limited to healthy lifting, transferring, and back care.
  • Participate in emergency drills as required.
  • Interact successfully with people in times of crisis or unpleasant environments.
Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Valid IL driver's license and safe driving record

  • Follow safety guidelines including, but not limited to healthy lifting, transferring, and back care.
  • Participate in emergency drills as required.

Documentation

  • Oversee necessary documentation weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually per KESHET policies and procedures.

 

Standards of Behavior/Conduct

  • Respond to all requests for information or communication in a timely manner.
  • Report all on-the-job injuries to the immediate supervisor and Director of Human Resources within 24 hours of the occurrence and provide a detailed account of the events leading to the injury.

 

Competencies and Certifications

  • Complete all mandatory new hire requirements and training as identified by the State of Illinois and KESHET’s training requirements within 90 days of hire and maintain courses and certifications as required.
  • Maintain skills with computers, take advantage of new technology, learn new tools quickly, use technology to enhance job performance and increase productivity. Maintain current understanding of technical processes/equipment.

 

Adherence to policies and procedures

  • Adhere to KESHET policies and procedures outlined in the policy manual, Employee Handbook, and other employee policies.
  • Present yourself in a professional manner as a representative of KESHET to family members, guardians, community members, and representatives from affiliated agencies.
  • Ensures all interactions support the core values and mission of the agency

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

Requires concentrated visual and auditory attention; requires frequent standing and walking; lifting and transferring individuals, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling; ability to work in environments that could include changes in temperature/humidity, dust, odors, noise, various allergens (both chemical and food-related), etc.; ability to work with individuals with disabilities, a variety of illnesses, and medical conditions; working indoors, outdoors, and in vehicles; works around and with others, and alone; may have to walk on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; expected to assist individuals receiving services with entering and exiting the vehicle, toileting, cleaning, cooking and other essential life skills.
