What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Court Clerk position at Kershaw County, SC?
Under general supervision, assists in Family Court operations, performing a variety of duties in support of effective and efficient court operation, and ensures compliance with all local, state and federal reporting requirements. Reports to Family Court Deputy Clerk.
Qualifications: Requires high school diploma or equivalent. Strong communication, personal and telephone skills, and problem solving skills. Required to have and maintain a clear background check, credit check, pass a drug screening and finger print. Must be dependable and prompt, and be efficient in Google Docs, Outlook Express, Excel, as well as other office machine products.
Responsibilities: Performs functions relative to general office functions of the Kershaw County Clerk of Court, to include general bookkeeping duties; daily and monthly as assigned, including but not limited to processing accounts receivable and/or payable. Performs routine clerical duties as required, including but not limited to copying and filing documents, process court orders, retrieving files, sending and receiving faxes and e-mails, assembling and collating documents. Collect child support purge payments and court fees at payment window; prepares bank deposits, and performs other accounting duties as necessary. Must have the ability to familiarize oneself with Palmetto Automated Child Support System (PACSS) and Family Court Case Management System (FCCMS). Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the supervisor, co-workers, other County staff, attorneys, court personnel, SCDSS personnel, law enforcement personnel, custodial/non-custodial parents, and the general public. Answers the telephone; provides accurate information and assistance to callers and/or forwards calls to appropriate personnel; takes messages as necessary; greets and assists public at the window.
