Machine Operator- Food Processing

The Extruder and blender operator is responsible for fully preparing and personally certifying large batches of dry food ingredients in accordance with Company specifications for use in the manufacturing process. This key position ensures that our food products contain only what they are supposed to contain and in the right proportions.

Accurately weigh and measure ingredients for use in blends.

• Maintain accurate paper records of the quantities of ingredients added to batches.
• Use basic math skills, including fractions, to calculate quantities of ingredients needed for partial batches.
• Assist with detailed cleaning activities in blending room as well as other areas of plant on a regular basis.
• Deliver a clean, well-ordered blending room to replacement each shift.
• Operate a vacuum-assisted lift, digital scales, paper recycling compressor, pallet lift, and mixer.
• Stage all required materials for pending blends in advance of shift change.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred, but no required.
• Must be able to tolerate the listed physical and environmental demands of this position with or without accommodations.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in written form.
• Must have some work experience doing heavy manual labor within the last 5 years.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• The pay range for this position is $19.93 - $20.93 per hour. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
