Burlington is accessible as a day trip to NC mountains and beaches. Ample recreational activities, shopping, and easy access to metros (Greensboro, Raleigh and Durham) are unique to Burlington.
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Scribe to join the Neurology team. The ideal candidate will have a solid combination of typing skills, medical knowledge, computer proficiency, and a strong interest in contributing to the Neurology medical program. This is a great opportunity to be involved in a diverse range of tasks, summarizing provider notes, and typing EEG and NCV study notes.
We are looking for someone who is proficient in computer skills and can easily adapt to new software. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must, with a proficiency in English grammar, along with knowledge of medical terminology. It's important to be able to type at least 50 words per minute and have excellent attention to detail. Previous experience as a medical scribe is a bonus, but not necessary. Organizational skills and accuracy are key, with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced clinical environment, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor's degree in health sciences, biology or related field
Experience as a medical scribe in a specialty clinic or ER department
Familiarity with EHR platforms likes EPIC, Cerner, Allscripts or Athenahealth
Prior training or certification through organizations like AAPC, AHIMA or ScribeAmerica
Bilingual (especially Spanish, Mandarin, or other languages common to your patient population)
Duties Include, but not limited to the following:
- Assist in summarizing provider notes after the AI scribing process.
- Type EEG and NCV study notes with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Utilize computer software and tools for efficient note-taking, data entry, and documentation.
- Maintain a high level of organization and accuracy in medical record-keeping.
- Support Provider, MA and other team members with various administrative and clinical tasks.
