QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, and spelling; the college application and enrollment process for various institutions; general needs of dual enrollment instructors; college partners' systems for enrollment, grading, and transfer credit; early college opportunities throughout the district and county.
Must possess the skill to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, teachers, administrators, employers, and various outside agencies; communicate effectively and tactfully in both oral and written forms in both ;understand and carry out both oral and written instructions in an independent manner; understand and apply district policies and procedures without immediate supervision; operate a computer and necessary software to maintain records, create letters, reports, and promotional materials; organize and conduct workshops for students, instructors, and parents on early college opportunities; utilize a variety of different types of technology; collect, organize, and analyze dual enrollment data.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Communicate with school site administrators to plan and schedule dual enrolled courses; work with college staff to promote and maintain of the district's Early College Pathways; assist instructors in the application process to become a dual enrollment instructor; assist students with the online registration process for dual enrolled courses; present information about early college to students and staff; assist in the development and design of promotional materials for early college; work with college partners to ensure promotional materials (websites, brochures, etc.) are updated regularly; assist instructors of articulated courses with the registration and grading requirements through the CATEMA system.
Successful applicant must possess and maintain a Class C California Driver's License and a safe driving record. Completion of the twelfth grade is required, Associate degree required, four years of post-secondary education preferred.
A CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED OF THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT. AS WELL AS A CURRENT COPY OF DMV DRIVING RECORD.
DUTIES OF POSITION: Assist in the implementation and expansion of the early college opportunities for students enrolled throughout the district; provide support to dual enrollment instructors with required tasks; assist with responsibilities required to maintain dual enrolled and articulated courses. Employees in this job classification receive general to limited supervision from the Director of Educational Services.
STARTING SALARY: $4,497.81 (monthly)
NUMBER OF MONTHS: 12 (to begin as soon as possible)
NUMBER OF HOURS: 8 (daily working hours 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
