Duties
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling with precision, adhering to aseptic techniques and laboratory protocols
- Collect, process, label, and handle specimens according to established laboratory procedures and safety standards
- Assist pediatric patients by providing compassionate care and explaining procedures clearly
- Record patient information, vital signs, and specimen details accurately using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Maintain specimen integrity through proper handling, storage, and transportation to ensure reliable laboratory testing results
- Follow laboratory techniques for specimen processing, including centrifugation, aliquoting, and preparation for testing
- Support laboratory operations by maintaining cleanliness, organizing supplies, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Certification or training in phlebotomy, with proficiency in venipuncture (blood sampling) and specimen collection of pediatrics
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and laboratory safety practices such as aseptic technique and BLS/CPR certification
- Familiarity with hospital environments, EMR/EHR systems, data entry processes, and specimen handling protocols
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including pediatrics
- Knowledge of blood sampling procedures, vital signs measurement, and clinical laboratory standards
Pay: $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 per week
