Senior Engineer
Location: Kiel, WI
Compensation: $95,000–$105,000
Vacation: 5 weeks
I’m currently working with a client of mine, a well-established and growing Wisconsin-based manufacturer, that is looking to add a Senior Engineer to their team.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys being hands-on, solving complex manufacturing challenges, improving processes, and working closely with operations and leadership. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise while also being comfortable taking ownership of projects from concept through implementation.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design, development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes, systems, tooling, and equipment.
- Identify and execute strategic initiatives that improve safety, quality, productivity, lead time, and overall operational performance.
- Serve as a technical leader for manufacturing process development and improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production to identify opportunities and implement solutions.
- Develop and improve tooling, fixtures, equipment, processes, and manufacturing methods.
- Troubleshoot complex production and manufacturing issues and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Support new product introduction and the transition of products from development into production.
- Evaluate existing processes and recommend improvements involving equipment, automation, materials, workflow, and manufacturing methods.
- Provide technical guidance on engineering and manufacturing projects.
- Participate in design reviews and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure products are practical, efficient, and cost-effective to manufacture.
- Help develop and implement continuous-improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing operation.
- Take ownership of projects and see them through from initial concept to successful implementation.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Significant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, and production systems.
- Experience with process improvement, problem solving, and root-cause analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
- A hands-on, practical approach to engineering and problem solving.
- Someone who can operate independently while also being a strong cross-functional partner.
