- Ensure all designs adhere to applicable policies, industry standards, and federal, state, and local codes and regulations
- Prepare, review, and maintain detailed construction drawings, permitting documents, and design packages
- Conduct engineering evaluations and develop cost estimates for proposed utility infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including survey, permitting, construction, and environmental staff to design and execute projects efficiently
Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Petroleum, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- EIT certification (preferred), or in progress.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, fluid modeling software, or similar design software.
- Willingness and ability to learn and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., PHMSA, PUC, DOT)

- Develop P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and isometric drawings for regulator stations, valve assemblies, and pressure reduction stations.
- Size and route aboveground and underground piping in accordance with ASME B31.8, API, and local utility standards.
- Design meter sets, pressure regulator configurations, and overpressure protection systems.
- Incorporate thermal expansion, pipe supports, thrust restraints, and anchoring systems into piping layouts.
- Incorporate safety factors for class location, MAOP (maximum allowable operating pressure), and pipeline integrity
Engineering & Analysis:
- Calculate gas flow rates, pressure drops, and load demands to ensure proper system sizing.
- Conduct stress analysis on high-pressure piping systems utilizing software tools, as needed.
