Position Summary
The Sales Associate is a critical Kept House team member responsible for delivering an outstanding customer experience while supporting the setup, operation, and breakdown of estate sales.
This role is designed to help create organized, welcoming, and profitable estate sale environments while ensuring customers receive exceptional service throughout the shopping experience.
The Sales Associate will also support the Operations Team in preparing homes, merchandising inventory, maintaining sale-day operations, and assisting with post-sale activities.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience
• Welcome and engage customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Answer questions about items, pricing, and sale policies.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise throughout the home.
• Support a positive shopping experience while helping maintain orderly traffic flow.
Sales & Checkout Support
• Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with loading purchased items when appropriate.
• Help monitor sold items and ensure proper removal procedures are followed.
• Support daily sales goals and customer satisfaction objectives.
Inventory & Merchandising
• Assist with organizing, sorting, displaying, and staging merchandise.
• Maintain attractive product displays throughout the sale.
• Restock and reorganize inventory as items are sold.
• Ensure merchandise is clearly priced and properly presented.
Property Preparation & Maintenance
• Assist with preparing homes for estate sales.
• Perform light cleaning and general housekeeping tasks before, during, and after sales.
• Help maintain safe, clean, and organized workspaces.
• Support setup and breakdown activities including tables, signage, and displays.
Operations Support
• Follow company procedures and safety guidelines.
• Assist with inventory movement and item placement.
• Help identify items that may require additional attention, security, or organization.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure successful sale execution.
Qualifications
• Friendly and customer-service oriented.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional.
• Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
• Able to lift and move up to 40 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Comfortable working in a variety of home environments.
• Ability to work weekends, as most estate sales occur Friday through Sunday.
• Retail, hospitality, customer service, estate sale, or resale experience is preferred.
