The Human Resources Director assists with the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department and Business Office. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, proper maintenance of employee records, regulatory compliance, and effective financial and administrative operations to support the overall success of the facility.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources & Payroll
- Maintain an effective, organized, and compliant payroll system
- Prepare and submit accurate payroll reports in a timely manner
- Implement and maintain written HR policies and procedures
- Verify employment information and conduct background checks for applicants
- Enter and maintain employee data in the HRIS system, including payroll, benefits, and personnel information
- Update HRIS records for employee status changes, wage adjustments, benefits enrollment, and other employment actions
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and employee orientation programs
- Maintain employee benefit records, including medical, dental, life insurance, voluntary benefits, PTO, and FMLA tracking
- Assist with employee relations, disciplinary documentation, and performance management processes
- Maintain personnel files and ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations
- Support recruitment efforts, including job postings, interviews, and hiring processes
- Work closely with department managers to ensure staffing and HR needs are met
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- Previous Human Resources and payroll experience strongly preferred
- Minimum two (2) years of business office, payroll, accounting, or Human Resources experience, preferably in long-term care
- Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance billing processes preferred
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems preferred
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
