Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Experienced Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining diesel engines, particularly in Jet-Vac trucks, refrigeration units, utility trucks and ancillary equipment. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively troubleshoot mechanical issues and ensure that all equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet.
- Assemble and fabricate parts as needed to ensure optimal performance.
- Align and suspend various components of diesel engines to maintain proper functionality.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools to conduct repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate testing equipment and techniques.
- Work with hydraulic systems to ensure proper operation and safety.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with management and field staff regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored after use.
Skills
- Proficient in the use of power tools and hand tools for mechanical repairs.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics and their applications in diesel mechanics.
- Ability to assemble, fabricate, align, and suspend components effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly.
- Strong communication skills, ensuring positive interactions with management and field staff.
- Experience working with Jet-Vac Trucks and ancillary systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Pay Rate
- Pay rate is negotiable and will be based on a combination of experience, knowledge, training and work history.
