Parts Delivery/Warehouse Clerk Job Summary
The primary function of the Delivery Driver/ Parts Clerk is to deliver and pick up parts as needed, for both parts and service departments. Maintain Parts Warehouse, including shipping and receiving procedures. Assist Parts Sales personnel with internal and external customer requests for parts purchases, both in person and on the telephone.
Parts Delivery/Warehouse Clerk Duties and Responsibilities
1. Accept and receive freight from freight companies after inspecting and verifying condition of shipment and noting of any damage to shipment documents.
2. Check in and receive all incoming inventory Locate parts in their prospective locations
3. Ensures accuracy of parts inventory by performing cycle and random bin counts.
4. Research discrepancies on orders and/or invoices (e.g. overages, shortages, and duplicate, damaged) for the purpose of correcting errors and/or returning damaged/incorrect parts.
5. Pick and pull parts for out outgoing parts orders
6. Deliver and pick up parts from vendors & customers
7. Drive company vehicles in a safe manner, obey all traffic laws, and report any motor vehicle violations to supervisor as soon as possible.
8. Have truck serviced and washed as needed.
9. Performs all functions within the scope of the warehouse for the purpose of providing support to warehouse and sales staff.
10. Maintain work area and surrounding areas for cleanliness, organization, proper supplies required to perform duties.
11. Participates in annual and random physical inventories for the purpose of verifying stock and identifying losses.
12. Assist Parts Sales personnel with internal and external customer requests for parts purchases, both in person and on the telephone.
13. Receive, process, and return cores to appropriate vendor.
14. Maintain warranty area. Return/discard warranty parts with assistance from Parts Manager/Service Manager.
Parts Delivery/Warehouse Clerk Qualifications
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Clearly legible handwriting.
Experience in shipping: knowledge of bills of lading, freight bills, shipping and receiving rates.
Packaging skills: knowledge of how material should be packed to reach its destination economically and without damage.
Excellent organization and communication skills.
Ability to operate warehouse forklift and complete formal training program.
Mechanical aptitude and minimal computer aptitude desirable.
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
