What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outside Parts and Service Sales position at Kenworth Northeast Group?
Responsible for the day to day outside sales operations associated with KW Parts Department. Sells parts, equipment, tools and accessories for commercial trucking vehicles, to assigned clients and customers. Utilizes company or personal vehicle to travel to customer site throughout the day to. Identifies type of parts needed within the department and across clientele.
- Identify maximum sales volume and develop realistic sales projections for assigned accounts.
- Oversee operations of assigned accounts; advise or assist customers/clients in areas including, inventory selection and control, service availability, and new products and services.
- Interact with key stakeholders on an ongoing basis, which includes calling current and prospective accounts.
- Process orders, introduce new products and promotions, reemphasize existing products/services and provide literature as necessary.
Complete weekly customer call sheets, which includes a written summary of calls made, the action items, and deliverables.
Maintain expense budget and monitor personal expenses within the approved budget; submit weekly expense report for approval.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Investigate and refer customer complaints to the appropriate Department Manager and/or Branch Manager.
Provide assistance on an as needed basis to counter personnel with orders, deliveries, returns, and inventory.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal service
- Knowledge of business management including strategic planning and leadership techniques
- Knowledge of laws, policies, procedures and regulations
- Knowledge of relevant parts and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- One year of related experience with the automotive parts industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience dealing with the public in sales/service capacity
- Excellent computer skills, including hardware and software
- Ability to travel within assigned territory
- Valid driver’s license with satisfactory motor vehicle record to fall within company guidelines.
