POSITION: Banquet Manager
Compensation and benefits package specific to this position are as follows:

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
□ Responsible for the daily operations in the Banquet Department.
□ Work in close support with the Director of Catering, Food & Beverage Director, General Manager and the Executive Chef
□ Complete familiarization with the operations and standard procedures of the Banquet Department
□ Responsible for the supervision of all hourly employees assigned to the banquet department
□ Responsible for compilation and implementation of the banquet staff’s weekly schedule
□ Responsible for bi-weekly payroll for the banquet department
□ Responsible for monitoring, documenting, supervising, hiring, training, counseling, and terminating employees under your supervision
□ Service enhancement through training and re-training banquet employees is essential
□ Ensure all banquet equipment is regularly inspected, maintained, cleaned, organized, and stored properly in the designated storage area
□ Closely monitor and maintain the banquet liquor room, to include equipment all supplies and products
□ Meet with members and guests as necessary during preparation and final stages of their event
□ Responsible for section allocations and staff work assignments for all events
□ To monitor and assist with enhancements of implementation of the buffet line its appearance and decoration
□ Complete Beverage Inventory the last day of each month
□ To attend weekly F&B meeting
□ In the event of sporadic, slow or nonexistent banquet business, throughout the year, the Banquet Manager is expected to and required to take on scheduled shifts in other areas of the Food & Beverage Department around the Club, i.e. restaurant, snack bar, patio.
□ You will be eligible for consideration in our yearly salary increase in one year
□ This position requires a minimum work week of 45 – 50 hours inclusive of all weekends and holidays and requires professional commitment to the position
□ Other duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications:The Banquet Manager at a Kenwood Country Club oversees private events such as weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, golf outings, corporate meetings, and member social events. Qualifications combine hospitality experience, leadership ability, and event coordination skills. Here are common basic qualifications we are looking for:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
Experience
- 3–5 years of banquet or event management experience, preferably in a private club, hotel, resort, or upscale restaurant
- Experience coordinating multiple events simultaneously
- Prior supervisory or management experience overseeing banquet staff
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of banquet service standards and event execution
- Knowledge of food & beverage operations
- Ability to read and implement Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
- Experience with event floorplans and room setups
- Familiarity with POS systems and event management software
- Knowledge of wine, bar service, and basic beverage programs
Leadership & Communication
- Ability to lead and schedule banquet staff
- Strong communication skills with members, guests, kitchen staff, and management
- Ability to solve problems quickly during events
- Strong customer service orientation, especially in a member-focused environment
Organizational Skills
- Excellent time management
- Ability to manage multiple events at once
- Strong attention to detail and presentation
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs. if necessary
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Certifications (Preferred, but not required)
- ServSafe Manager Certification
- TIPS or alcohol service certification
Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
