Job Summary:

Established in 1930, Kenwood Country Club is the premier family club in the Cincinnati area and one of the top Clubs in the Midwest. The club offers tremendous facilities including two championship, 18-hole golf courses, tennis, paddle tennis, state-of-the-art fitness center, an expansive pool and pavilion area, and a sophistically renovated clubhouse. The club has a total of 925 members and remains on a waitlist of approximately two years for social membership and five years for golf membership.

The club seeks to hire a Demi Chef. This individual plays a key role in creating an exceptional dining experience for our members and guests by preparing à la carte and banquet menu items with precision, care, and creativity. The Demi Chef will be responsible for managing lunch service, concessions, grab & go offerings, and supervising 7–9 cooks to ensure consistent quality, presentation, and service standards are met. This role requires a hands-on leader who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to excellence in both taste and presentation.

Job Description:

  • Prepare and cook high-quality à la carte and banquet menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Oversee lunch service, grab & go stations, and concessions to ensure timely and efficient operations.
  • Supervise, mentor, and schedule 7–9 cooks in a high-performance kitchen environment.
    • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control across all menu items.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor food inventory levels and communicate with the Sous Chef regarding ordering and stock rotation.
  • Assist with menu planning, daily specials, and seasonal offerings as directed by the Executive Chef.
  • Uphold high standards of customer service and professionalism when interacting with front-of-house staff and members.
  • Act as a role model for junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a country club, fine dining, or high-volume environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing a small team of cooks.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen best practices.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in food preparation and garnishing.
  • Passion for culinary excellence and delivering top-tier guest experiences.
  • Culinary certification or degree preferred but not required.

Salary and Benefits:

  • This is a full-time hourly position with a complete benefits package. Health, dental, and vision insurance per the Kenwood Country Club employee benefit package. Family insurance coverage is available with employee contributions.
  • 401(k) plan with 4% Employer Match upon completion of eligibility requirements.
