The Mechanic is responsible for performing a wide range of mechanical and diagnostic repairs on vehicles, ensuring all systems operate safely and effectively in accordance with manufacturer specifications. This includes mechanical work related to suspension, steering, braking, alignments, and drivetrain. The ideal candidate will be experienced in vehicle diagnostics and precision alignments, demonstrating strong attention to detail, safety, and quality workmanship. The Mechanic works closely with estimators, technicians, and service advisors to ensure all mechanical repairs are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with OEM and industry standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIESInspect, diagnose, and repair vehicle mechanical systems including suspension, steering, brakes, drivetrain, and cooling systems.Perform precision wheel alignments and suspension work to restore proper vehicle handling and ride quality.Use OEM and aftermarket diagnostic tools to identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and electronic control system issues.Collaborate with estimators and collision technicians to identify and verify all necessary mechanical repairs.Perform pre- and post-scan diagnostics to identify hidden damage and confirm successful repair completion.Document all diagnostic findings, repair steps, and calibration results in the repair order system.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of vehicle technologies, systems and repair procedures.Ensure all repairs comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards.Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean, organized, and safe condition.Assist other team members as needed to promote an efficient, team-focused workflow.Perform other duties as assigned by management.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited automotive technology program preferred.Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive mechanical repair, preferably within a collision repair or dealership environment.Proficiency with OEM and aftermarket diagnostic scan tools and alignment machines.Strong understanding of modern vehicle systems, including braking, steering, suspension, and electronic control systems.Language SkillsAbility to read and understand repair estimates and OEM technical documentation.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
