Kentwool is seeking a hands-on Accounting Generalist to support daily accounting operations for our manufacturing and performance divisions. This role focuses primarily on accounts payable, with secondary responsibility for accounts receivable and cash receipts, in addition to support for month end close, reconciliations, tax filings, and audits. In this role, success is defined by accurate and timely transaction processing, well maintained reconciliations, and strong partnerships with internal teams, vendors, and customers. The Accounting Generalist is a key member of a small accounting team and works closely with the Director of Accounting to support the financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable for Kentwool Manufacturing and Kentwool Performance, ensuring accurate and timely payment of supplier invoices.
- Work with purchasing and suppliers to resolve discrepancies between invoices, purchase orders, and receipts.
- Maintain accurate vendor records, including tax details and 1099 status, and prepare and issue annual Forms 1099.
- Verify, post, and apply customer payments to maintain current and accurate customer account balances.
- Prepare and coordinate bank deposits for customer payments.
- Update cash flow projections with accounts receivable and accounts payable data.
- Assist with preparation of month end journal entries and postings.
- Prepare account reconciliations and assist with account analysis as directed.
- Support preparation of audit schedules and assist with annual audits.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned to support the department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field and 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, with experience in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow through.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently within a small team.
- Comfortable communicating with internal stakeholders, vendors, and customers in a professional manner.
- Ability to work 100 percent onsite at Kentwool’s facility in Pickens, South Carolina.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer, now and in the future, without the need for visa sponsorship.
Salary : $45,000 - $54,000
