What are the responsibilities and job description for the Secretary to the Principal 44 week position at Kentwood Public Schools?
- Responsible for being a positive first contact person for parents and visitors.
- Schedule appointments and maintain calendar for building administrator and building activities.
- Responsible for ordering and maintaining inventory of all school supplies and equipment for all staff members, process purchase requisitions and supply requests.
- Dispense medication and responsible for related record keeping, as requested.
- Responsible for assisting assigned substitute teachers by defining school practice and preparing time reports for substitute teachers.
- Assist the principal with implementing the student enrollment process and with parental involvement.
- Interact with co-workers, administration, students, parents and the community in positive, supportive and cooperative ways.
- Regular, reliable and punctual attendance
- Other duties as assigned.
- Post high school education in the field of secretarial skills and procedures or three years to five years successful experience as a secretary required.
- Associates degree preferred.
- Experience working with computers, required.
- Working knowledge of Windows based programs required.
- Willing and able to learn the district’s e-mail, student records, payroll, and financial systems.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Excellent organizational skills, including filing and record maintenance.
- Work well with all employees, parents, students and community members.
- Evidence of leadership ability.
