Position Summary:
Kentwood High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Girls Flag Football Coach to join our athletics program. The assistant coach will work closely with the head coach to develop student-athletes both on and off the field, fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and conducting effective practices and games.
- Assist with skill development, conditioning, and tactical instruction for all players.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe team environment.
- Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and other team activities.
- Monitor academic progress, behavior, and well-being of student-athletes.
- Communicate regularly with players, parents/guardians, and school staff as needed.
- Uphold all school, league, and state athletic association rules and policies.
- Assist with program logistics including equipment management, game preparation, and travel arrangements.
Qualifications:
- Previous football or flag football playing or coaching experience preferred (high school, club, or collegiate level).
- Strong knowledge of flag football fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
- Ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and fostering a positive athletic culture.
- Must meet district and state coaching certification requirements, including background checks and CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
