What are the responsibilities and job description for the Water Park and Plumbing Technician (Full Time) position at Kentucky Kingdom?
Responsibilities
- Monitor chemical levels in Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay attractions to ensure compliance with local health department and HFE standards.
- Assist in installation and monitoring performance of installed water park equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Daily technical operation of water attractions at Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay.
- Water testing, inspections, preventive maintenance, and repair of attractions to ensure HFE compliance as well as safety of guests and Hosts.
- Add chemicals to water attractions as needed to ensure safe operating levels.
- Backwash filter systems and clean strainer baskets as necessary to ensure proper flows and operation.
- Address requests (radio, telephone, or in-person) regarding water park, plumbing, HVAC, storm water, and related issues.
- Ensure plumbing throughout the park is in good operating condition.
- Complete Mobaro, Logbooks and Chemical Logs in accordance with park, HFE, state, and local requirements.
- Use required safety equipment including hard hats, safety glasses, masks, harnesses or other fall protection, hand protection, and other items as required for specific tasks or jobs.
- Assist with winterization and opening of facilities during off-season.
- Additional responsibilities as determined by the Water Park & Plumbing Supervisor or Senior Manager or Director of Maintenance.
Requirements
- Minimum of 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Manual dexterity necessary to complete all job responsibilities.
- Problem-solving and deductive-reasoning skills.
- Ability to maintain good personal hygiene.
- Ability to comprehend instructions and analyze and retain information.
- Ability to maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with respect to assigned work schedule including required overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Flexibility to handle frequent changes in priorities.
- Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Ability to dig trenches by use of hand tools or power equipment.
- Ability to climb and work from all types of ladders as well as individually carry and relocate up to a 12’ step ladder.
- Ability to perform work at various heights from scaffolding, aerial lifts, cat walks, or other areas.
- Ability to balance, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, crouch, reach overhead, and work in confined spaces such as switchgear rooms, utility access holes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, and attics.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools and equipment such as air compressor, skill saw, electric drill, impact wrench, hand wrench, shovel, ladder, etc.
- Ability to promote and support a “team” work environment by cooperating with and helping coworkers and working well with other departments.
Must successfully complete post-employment offer drug screen and background check.
