Primary Role:
This position will work with ATF crime gun center and will assist in providing analytical and intelligence support to AHIDTA/ATF and cooperating agencies. The analyst will provide crime gun intelligence and in-depth analysis and research on gun intelligence specific to firearm related violent crime.

This position will work with ATF crime gun center and will assist in providing analytical and intelligence support to AHIDTA/ATF and cooperating agencies. The analyst will provide crime gun intelligence and in-depth analysis and research on gun intelligence specific to firearm related violent crime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Entering, modifying, and retrieving data in various computer applications, spreadsheets, and reports.
- Gathering crime reports and creating link charts for investigative leads.
- Performing NIBN (National Integrated Ballistics Information Network) processing, analysis, and compiling data necessary to provide actionable law enforcement investigative leads.
- Learns and utilizes advanced reporting software within Kentucky Open Portal Solution (KYOPS).
- Compiles, analyzes, and disseminates information and criminal intelligence from various local, state, and federal agencies. Interprets and analyzes raw intelligence to provide investigative support with criminal cases.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of professional experience in intelligence analysis.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Professional experience in criminal intelligence, criminal justice, investigative law enforcement, or a related field of investigation will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Occasional travel may be required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 12 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
