Overview
We are seeking a proactive and quality Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our apartment community. Must be honest, clean, hard working and a good problem solver who is capable and productive. Must have a truck or van and all of your own tools. There will be light duty construction, plumbing, electrical, flooring installation and painting. HVAC certification will demand higher pay. Must be willing to travel 45 minutes on occasion.
In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance, repair, and overall functionality of residential apartment communities. Your expertise will help create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents by performing a wide range of maintenance tasks with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues using schematics, electrical equipment repair techniques, and tools such as ohmmeters.
- Conduct plumbing system maintenance and repairs, including fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, and maintaining plumbing infrastructure.
- Maintain HVAC systems through repairs, filter replacements, and system diagnostics to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to complete repairs efficiently.
- Carry out building interior maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, drywall repair, and facilities equipment upkeep.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to resident requests and communicating clearly about repair timelines and procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience in residential or facilities maintenance with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
- Proficiency in electrical work, plumbing system maintenance and repair, HVAC system repair, and building interior upkeep.
- Knowledge of maintenance painting techniques and carpentry skills for building interior projects.
- Strong communication skills in English; capable of providing clear instructions and updates to residents and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
