Key Skills & Responsibilities
- Surface Preparation:
- Assess surfaces for repair and preparation requirements (e.g., cleaning, sanding, filling cracks).
- Apply primer and other preparatory coatings as needed.
- Painting Execution:
- Apply paint, varnishes, and stains to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Ensure uniform finish and adherence to design specifications.
- Equipment and Materials Management:
- Maintain and clean painting equipment and tools.
- Safely handle, store, and dispose of paints and other chemicals.
- Quality Assurance:
- Perform inspections to ensure the highest standard of work.
- Implement touch-ups and corrections to achieve a flawless finish.
- Client Interaction:
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide updates.
- Safety Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure workspaces are clean and hazard-free during and after the job.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a professional residential painter (minimum 3 years preferred).
- Extensive knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and materials.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment and climb ladders.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with decorative painting techniques (e.g., faux finishes, stenciling).
- Knowledge of color theory and design principles.
- Basic carpentry skills to assist in surface repairs.
