What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Clinical Supervisor - Licensed (FT or PT) position at Kent Youth and Family Services?
The Mental Health Clinical Supervisor, using individual and family therapy, group counseling, educational classes and case management services; provides counseling and intervention services to youth, families, and communities as well as mentorship, coaching, and supervision for other KYFS clinicians.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Counseling Services
- Carry an ongoing caseload, which will be determined by how many supervisees are being seen at a given time.
- Provide individual, couple, family and group counseling, intake and assessment, crisis intervention, drop-in, and follow up services. Services are provided in the office, at local schools, and/or by telehealth or phone.
Supervision
- Supervise clinical staff and interns as assigned by Program Director.
- Be available and respond to crisis situations as needed.
- Provide education and coaching regarding time management, appropriate documentation, and working with collateral contacts to provide coordinated care to clients.
- Provide documentation to internship programs as needed for each program’s specific requirements.
- Provide on-boarding support for new clinicians.
- Work in a collaborative and professional manner with fellow staff, colleagues, management and clients and with community members.
Community Education/Marketing/Outreach
- Responsible for ongoing outreach, education, and/or prevention services, i.e., skill building classes and/or education in community or school and other presentations as requested.
- Develop and maintain positive relations with community referral sources and intern programs.
- Attend public relations/community events as requested, i.e., annual event, community outreach, etc.
Case management
- Deliver case consultation, linkage to and coordination of services with collateral contacts and advocacy for assigned clients.
- Utilize agency programs/services in efforts to provide a continuum of care.
Documentation and Evaluation
- Provide agency and program statistical information and information necessary for program/services evaluation.
- Maintain case records in an accurate and timely manner per all WAC, State and King County requirements.
- Meet with supervisor on a regular basis and attend required meetings, consultations, and trainings.
Miscellaneous
- Manage ongoing updates to required forms and/or policies and procedures as needed.
- Represent KYFS at meetings as requested by Supervisor.
- Plan weekly team meetings for behavioral health department.
- Coordinate trainings (WAC, KC required, and other) to provide ongoing education for staff.
- Provide on-going Credible training and support for staff, including on-boarding of new staff.
- Facilitate Quality Assurance peer reviews and education to staff on changes to documentation requirements for audits.
- Support audit process by providing charts and being the point-person for auditors during site-visits and reviews.
- Attend regular supervisor meetings to provide coordinated supervision and leadership.
