What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher position at Kent Youth and Family Services?
Kent Youth & Family Services (KYFS) is hiring Assistant Teachers for our Early Learning, Head Start & ECEAP programs. This position works with the lead teacher to provide comprehensive learning experiences for children that will help them develop in an appropriate manner, based upon age and developmental stage. To enhance the parent’s role as the principal influence on the child’s education and development.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:
· Help to develop and implement individual learning plans, (ILP), prepare materials and classroom environment to support lesson plans.
· Interact with children to support their individual learning and emotional needs.
· Complete on-going written observations of individual children as directed.
· Assist in providing a varied curriculum, including multi-cultural and literacy experiences.
· Assist in administering child health and development screenings.
· Present prepared meals and eat with the children in a family style manner.
· Assist teacher in maintaining accurate records on each child, stored in a confidential manner.
· Provide transition activities for children and families to help make a smooth transition to the public school system.
JOB TYPE/SHEDULE: Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, day shift with some occasional early evening work as needed
PAY RANGE: $18-$24 / DOE
BENEFITS: Full Time staff are eligible for: Company paid medical, dental, vision, life and LTD insurance for employee, and paid sick leave. Company paid 403b retirement: current contribution is at 5% after one year of employment and meeting eligibility requirements.
